The free version of Academia.edu will allow you to create an account and download research papers. N.b. Copyright limitations of publishers should be considered when uploading your research.
The subscription version of Academia.edu (Academia Premium) provides access to more research papers and other features not included in the free version.
Discussion panels allow you to connect and ‘follow’ other researchers in your field
Academia.edu results often appear high in Google searches which provides an opportunity to further promote your research.

Before uploading research to Academia.edu you need to consider the following:

Publishers may have limitations on what you can share on particular platforms. Academia.edu is a commercial social networking site and is NOT an institutional repository so you will need to look for your publishers’ guidelines in relation to uploading papers to these sites
Commercial sites like Academia.edu are subject to ‘take down’ notices from publishers.
