Open Research: Open Research at the University of Newcastle

Library Support for Open Research at the University of Newcastle

The University's Open Access Guideline supports and promotes the dissemination of research findings in an international open-access environment through the lodgement of research outputs into NOVA, the University's institutional repository. The Guidelines also endorse support for the open access mandates articulated by funding agencies to improve access to publicly funded scholarly research.

The University Library supports open research by:

Read and Publish Agreements

The University of Newcastle Library has signed 14 Read and Publish Agreements covering over 9,700 journals to enable researchers at the University to publish their research open access.

For further information on how you can publish open access under these agreements check the Open Access Publishing Agreements (Read and Publish Agreements) page.

NOVA Repository

NOVA is available to assist staff, students and affiliates of the University with the storage, management and access to research and research related outputs.

A major feature of the repository is its ability to promote the research of our University by making our content accessible, searchable and discoverable by the global research community. Where possible the Library endeavours to make available full-text research publications via open access.

For more information about how to submit your publications to NOVA, check our Repository open access page.
