NEW - PALS student guide: Get Started

Library Hours

Welcome

Welcome to the Pathways Library Guide. This guide is a place that you can come to for links to all of the library resources and services that you might need throughout your study.

The library is:

  • our buildings with physical collections, study spaces and facilities for you to use.
  • an online space where you can access electronic resources and learning materials through the library website
  • staff who are able to assist you with library and information skills such as finding information for your assignments, evaluating the quality of information, and referencing.

This guide is a starting place to help you find and get the most out of the library resources and services that are available to you. We hope to see you in the library!

Getting Started

There are libraries at each of our locations: at Callaghan, NUspace at Newcastle City, Ourimbah, Gosford Hospital and Sydney. There are also 24 hour study spaces at Auchmuty and Ourimbah libraries - remember to bring your student card with you to access these spaces after the main library has closed. See the Library Hours for opening times.

There are lots of places to study in the library. Some are quiet, individual study spaces, others are group study areas suitable for group work.

There are study rooms that are bookable for group work at each of the campus libraries. On the booking page, choose the library location, then click on the info button to see what facilities are in each room, such as Zoom video conferencing capability.

Click one of the available times to book. You will need to confirm your booking from a verification email.

There are printers available in all the university libraries. You can print from your personal device, or from a university computer. Get some tips on setting up printing at uni.

You can also use printers for scanning and photocopying.

As a student you can connect to the University's newcastle.edu.au WiFi network. There are also computers available in all of the University Libraries that you can log in to with your student number and password.
