Welcome

Welcome to the MBA Student Guide. On this guide, you'll find links to library resources and services that will help you during your studies.

The library is yours, and is made up of

  • our buildings with physical collections, study spaces and facilities for you to use.
  • an online space where you can access electronic resources and learning materials via the library website
  • services led by staff who are available to assist you with library and information skills

Digital Capabilities

There are libraries at each of our locations: at Callaghan, NUspace at Newcastle City, Ourimbah, Sydney and Gosford Hospital.

There are also 24 hour study spaces at Auchmuty and Ourimbah libraries - remember to bring your student card with you to access these spaces after the main library has closed.

 

You'll find lots of places to study in the library - from quiet, individual spaces, to ones suitable for group study. 

Need to work in a group? Follow these steps to book a study room 

1. Go to bookable.

2. On the booking page, choose the library location, 

3. Click on the info button to see what facilities are in each room (such as Zoom video conferencing capability)

4. Click one of the available times to book.

5. You'll receive a verification emailConfirm your booking 

Printers are available at all campus libraries. You can print from your personal device, or from a university computer. Printers can also be used for scanning and photocopying.

As a student you can connect to the University's newcastle.edu.au WiFi network. There are also computers available in all of the University Libraries that you can log in to with your student number and password.

If you are using a VPN to access library resources, limit the number of countries that you connect from in a day. Please be aware that some VPN software can automatically connect to a different country each time it’s enabled.

There is also a VPN service for University online services access within Mainland China (scroll to the bottom of the page).
