Although Endnote can import from hundreds of databases and catalogues it may still be necessary to add records manually. To manually create an EndNote record:

You need to choose the most appropriate reference type for each of your EndNote records, so that they are formatted and displayed correctly in your document.
Aim to be familiar with your referencing style so that you know how a particular reference type should display when it is correctly formatted - see our referencing guide for examples of the most common reference styles used at UON, and refer to a style manual if there is one for your referencing style. Use the preview tab in EndNote to check for errors.
The following table may help you choose the correct referencing type for each of your EndNote records.
