TAFE Account

Logging on to the TAFE Portal


Your TAFE Account

During enrollment TAFE students will receive a TAFE User ID (username) and a temporary password printed on your TAFE NSW fees receipt. This account gives you access to the internet, email and TAFE student portal. You need to activate your TAFE account via the portal.

Activate Your TAFE Account

  1. Log on to the TAFE student Portal and register at -
  2. When entering a temporary date of birth password, you must include the slashes (/); e.g. 14/05/1991
  3. After logging into the Portal you need to reset your temporary password and set up 3 secret questions and answers.
  4. It can take up to 10 minutes for the new password to update all services.

Reset Password

  • Go to the TAFE student Portal at -
  • Click the link to I've forgotten my password
  • Answer the 3 Secret Questions and click the VALIDATE button
  • Enter and confirm your new password and click the RESET button

Your TAFE teacher or Library staff can also reset your TAFE password for you

Moodle Account

Logging on to TAFE Moodle


Create an account

  1. Log on to
  2. Click "REGISTER" on the top right corner of the page.
  3. Enter in your TAFE username (eg. john.smith5)
  4. Create a password, doesn't have to be the normal TAFE one.
  5. Fill in the rest of the form with Other Details.
  6. Fill in reCAPTCHA authentication box where it says "Enter the words above"
  7. Click the "Create my new account" button.
  8. Check the email account you have nominated in the new account registration, there will be an automatically generated email with a link you need to click on to complete the registration.
  9. You will now be able to log in to Moodle with username and password you just created.

Reset password

If you have forgotten your Moodle username or password there is a "Forgot Password?" button on the site, click this and a password reset message will be sent to your nominated email address. Check your email and follow the instructions given.

Access to the course material - enrolment key

Students need an enrolment key to access the course material in Moodle. This enrolment key is available from your teacher.

UON account

Logging on to UON Computers and Library

Your University Account (UniID)

After you have completed your enrolment with the Ourimbah TAFE, a university account will be created for you. This account will enable you to log on to the university PCs in the library and other computer labs on campus.

The user name (UniID) of your university account is the letter 't' followed by your student number, eg t123456789. Ourimbah TAFE Students need to activate their UON Account before it can be used – using the Account Activation Application (AAA). Users Accept UON Terms and Conditions and set their UON password.

Activate your University Account

1: Go to AAA site at:










2: Enter your Student (Learner) Number, Date of Birth and Product Code
3: Click the box beside “I’m not a robot”.

4. Select the appropriate Captcha images that meet the request at the top.
5. Click Verify and then Next.
    NB Some older browsers will not display the Captcha images and will automatically tick the “I’m not a robot box”.

6. The Accept Terms of Use page appears. Read and Accept UON terms and conditions

7. The Set Password page will appear. Enter, Confirm and Save the password that meeting the rules as listed.
You account will be activated and ready for use.
