Library Services for International Students: Borrowing & renewing

An introduction to using the Library for international students at the University of Newcastle.

Your student card is your Library card. You can use it to borrow books & other resources.

Library items can be borrowed via the self-check machines or by visiting the Service Zones.

Watch our How to borrow a book video for help with using our self-check machines.

Have a look at our Student borrowing page for more information, including the number of items & the types of resources you can borrow.

Renewing loans

You can renew (re-borrow) your loans either in person at any of our Libraries, or online.

To renew your loans online, you need to log into MyLibrary.

  • Type in your Student number (without the 'c') and Library PIN.

  • Click your name (in blue) in the top right hand corner.

  • Select the items you wish to renew & click Renew Marked, or Renew All.

  • Select Yes to confirm renewing your items.

Sometimes you won't be able to renew an item as another student may have requested it; or you may have renewed the item the maximum number of times allowed. You are also unable to renew Course Readings items.

Have a look at more information on renewing (& returning) loans.

Have a look at the Library PINs page if you do not have a PIN, or have forgotten it.
