An affiliate access account can be created if you need access to UoN online systems or computers and are not employed directly by UoN. There are two categories of affiliated user.

IT affiliated user request form
For access to online materials affiliate staff are required to complete an "IT affiliated user request form" which contains the information relating to either Category 1 or Category 2 affiliation.
Once completed, a UON unique Affiliate number (UON staff number) will be sent to your nominated email account. You will then be able to activate your account. Go to New Staff Computing Accounts and follow the process.

Affiliate membership must be applied for at the start of each year. Providing your details to the University indicates agreement to the Library Use Policy, and is an annual requirement.
Affiliates have the same privileges as Staff members
For access to our physical materials affiliate staff are required to provide a letter signed by the Head of School addressed in writing to:
The Office of the University Librarian, Auchmuty Library, University of Newcastle, Callaghan NSW 2308
indicating that Library membership is a requirement of the Affiliate's work for the benefit of the University of Newcastle. Staff details (name, home address, contact phone numbers and work email address) are required. Please attach the letter and details in an email to email@example.com
