APA Style

Note:  This guide is for APA 7.  For APA 6, see our archived guide

APA is an author-date citation style.  It is commonly used for Psychology, Nursing, Education, Business, and other areas.

This style allows readers to locate information sources via short in-text citations, with full details in the reference list.

Based on the 7th edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, this guide provides general instructions and examples for citing a range of sources.

Access the grey tabs for the guide menu or see the guide index.
