Australian Indigenous studies: Search tips for books and ebooks

Guide to finding the best resources for research in Australian Indigenous Studies.

Search Tips

Find a specific book

Search for the title of the book in the Library catalogue, NewCat+. It may also be useful to add the surname of the first author.

  • Use quotation marks around the title to make your search more specific. Example: "Aboriginal communities".
  • If the Library has the book, the catalogue record for the book will be in the results list. It will include details of editions that are available.
  • For books which are available electronically there will be a link to the ebook provider.

Found a book we don't have?

  • If Newcastle doesn't have the print book you want, request it from another library using our BONUS+ and/or Get It Services.
  • For more details go to our Borrowing from other libraries webpage.
  • Please note that this does not apply to electronic books.
