Research Tips

What are Secondary Sources?
Articles, book chapters etc. written about a work e.g. theories of Vygotsky. Decribes, interprets, analyses, evaluates, or comments on a source or event in hindsight.

What are Primary Sources?
Original materials, created at the time of an event, by somebody who collected data or experienced the event. Often one-of-a-kind or rare sources presenting original thinking, new discoveries or information.

Beware Wikipedia!
It shouldn't be cited in academic work (avoid sites where authors aren't accountable for their contributions)

Avoid Plagiarism
Don't use an author's work or ideas without referencing (even if not directly quoted & you've changed words)
