Information Commons  

Information Commons bring together electronic learning resources, computer hardware and software, media production facilities, in informal collaborative layouts to suit contemporary learning styles.

What is a ROVER?



ROVERS work in the Ourimbah (OIC), Auchmuty (AIC), City (CHIC) and Huxley Libraries, they are current UoN students.

Rovers provide basic  advice, assistance and operational support to staff  and students in the use of the University of Newcastle’s information technology systems and assist with the provision of Library services.

Look for the person wearing the "black shirt" next time you visit an Information Common site.

Information Commons (IC) are open 24/7
throughout semester.

Bright, lounge-style learning spaces are at Callaghan, City and Ourimbah ,with 24-hour
Rover support. 
IC's feature state-of-the-art computers, individual work cubicles, printing facilities, wireless access
and lounge areas.
 

Information Commons Locations

Callaghan
The AIC is located on level 2 Auchmuty Library, building L on the Campus Map.
HIC Huxley Library in the Hunter Building this Information Common is not a 24/7 space.

City
CHIC is located on the ground floor University House, corner King and Auckland Street, Newcastle.

Ourimbah
OIC is located on level 1, Ourimbah Library.
