ARC and NHMRC Open Access Policies

The Library provides support to meet the requirements of the ARC and NHMRC Open Access Policies. The ARC and NHMRC requires that any peer-reviewed publication arising from NHMRC/ARC supported research must be made openly accessible in an institutional repository or other acceptable location (e.g. publisher website, subject repositories) within a 12-month period from the date of publication. The metadata for the peer-reviewed publication must be made openly accessible via an institutional repository as soon as possible but no later than 3 months from the date of publication.

NHMRC strongly encourages researchers to take reasonable steps to share research data and associated metadata arising from NHMRC supported research and requires patents generated from public funding to be listed in SourceIP.

Read the NHMRC Open Access Policy  and the ARC Open Access Policy.

Contact us for assistance with:

  • inclusion of a metadata record into the NOVA open access repository, and deposit of an open access version of your publication into the NOVA open access repository, or the inclusion of a link to an online open access copy of your publication
  • Inclusion of the Funding Body and Project Grant ID in the metadata record
  • Advice on the open access copyright policy and permissions for your publication.
